Junkyards are treasure troves for photographers. Last month, I visited one of my favorite junkyards, the Gold King Mine and Ghost Town in Jerome, AZ. It’s a haven of old cars, trucks, mining equipment, machinery, tools, and everything in between – rust never looked so beautiful! And yes Pedro Gonzales, the resident burro, still greets visitors as do the many free roaming chickens and roosters. A few goats round out the menagerie. And of course, there would be no Gold King Mine without Don Robertson, the owner and curator of this magnificent gem.
